Although salt is probably the most common flavoring on any food (french fries, onion rings, soups, etc.), it has little to recommend in nutritional terms. If you are trying to follow a balanced diet, bear the following in mind:
1. Avoid obviously salty foods
2. Do not add salt to food during cooking or at the table
3. Where salt is essential, use mineral-rich rock salt rather than table salt, or use a low-sodium brand of salt sparingly.
4. Adding lime juice to food stimulates the tastes buds and decreases the amount of salt you need, too.
Note: When food labels quote sodium rather than salt content, the figure needs to be multiplied by 2.5 to give the true salt content. For example, a serving of soup containing 0.4g sodium contains 1g salt.
Things that come up like Outer Banks foreclosures, bankruptcies and other problems can be very stressful and do not help in your detoxification. Stress is an enemy of the body. When we are under stress, the body tenses up and some organs produce fluids that are harmful to the body. That is why it is important to learn how to deal with stress in your life. Finding stress relief is what many people want. Remember, when dealing with stress, involve your spirit because peace must start from the inside and manifest itself outwardly.
When Not to Fast
Medical practitioners advise that an individual should not fast when the individual:
1. is underweight
2. is pregnant or breast-feeding
3. is under extreme stress
4. has anemia
5. has Tye 1 diabetes
6. is taking a prescription medication that should not be stopped
7. has kidney failure
8. has severe liver disease
9. suffers from gout (except under specialist supervision)
Recently, there have been a lot of scientific speculation that came out about the use of underarm antiperspirants. The speculation is that the use of antiperspirants could be linked with an increased risk of breast cancer. The reason posed is that antiperspirants are said to impede the natural purging of toxins from the body.
This is an interesting but unproven hypothesis. Inasmuch as antiperspirants, like fatty diets and high incomes, are found mainly in wealthy Western societies where various cancers are also on the increase, there could be a correlation.
However, there is no firm proof of this and many researchers feel that underarm toxins would merely be eliminated elsewhere. Research continues, however, into the possible adverse effects of parabens (preservatives added to antiperspirants).
In conclusion, while there is no evidence to the speculation on antiperspirants, it would be wise to avoid underarm products containing parabens.
Why do we need to detoxify anyway? Is it really more than just a fad that people are obsessing over these days? Fact is, we do need to detoxify our system from toxin buildup that our bodies have accumulated through the years. Toxin elimination should be done so that our bodies will properly function. You will be surprised how much toxins are in the food that we eat and even water that we drink.
There are different ways of detoxification and it is up to the individual which procedure will be for you. It has been proven that toxins are what causes cancers and several diseases. With liver being one of the most vital organs of our body, its detoxification is necessary for our bodies to be able to function in their optimum level.
